No Hurry

(David Trabue: Boiled Strings Music)

I’m not in a hurry to get to the end of a life I’ve enjoyed more than most.

But I’ve had a great time and I’m starting to tire, so when time comes I’ll give up that ghost.

But for now I’ll keep living and loving the life that I’ve known all along fit for me.

Til the day that I die, never questioning why I was just what I wanted to be.

The good friends I’ve met helped me make life worthwhile, picked me up when I’ve stumbled and burned.

And the family that bore me has borne me along, and the love that they showed never turned.

And for now I’ll keep living the life that I love, where it carries me on as I go.

Til the day that I die, never wondering why I’m the luckiest man that I know.

There’s been people with much more in earthly possessions who I’ve seen fall apart with it all.

There’s been people with hard knocks that they’ve overcome get up stronger after their fall.

I played at my music, I sang you my songs & in passing I’ve had lots of fun.

I have never been perfect, but I’ll tell one and all that I never meant harm to no one.

But for now I’ll keep living the life that I own, as it carries me on ‘til I part.

And I’ll know when I’m gone I was carrying on with a smile and a song in my heart.

With a smile and a song in my heart.
